Coding 2011 XJL,
Hi all, over in BMW land it’s call coding - adding or adjusting actions of the car like opening and closing the trunk lid with the remote button, options
not in the screen menu done via the OBD.
Any thing like that in Jag land? What’s it called, is there a forum section?
regards, Don m

Hello Don,
Here in the Jaguar Forums, there are modifications to the CCF, Central (or Car) Configuration File, usually to enable features to the as-built.
Examples include adding blind spot monitors to the XF and reverse/back-up camera to the XK.
This method relies on the necessary "code" being present or available for download to the added modules, as in the case of programming XF BSM modules.
If the function or feature is not "native" to the vehicle, then a "control module", Raspberry Pi or Arduino, etc, may be added to perform functions.
An example of a custom module is one for enhanced convertible top operation marketed by WhiteXKR.
The king of JLR coding is Rhys Morgan who developed a raspberryPi based replacement for the multi-function display in his XF and made an easy-to-use Engineering Code Calculator.
GitHub - rhysmorgan134/SDD-Engineering-Mode-Calculator (and no virus!)
I am interested in reverse engineering the CAN Bus and CCF. Considerable time invested with Busmaster, SavvyCAN, Arduino, etc. and money with Kvaser, CSS, CANdo, PicoScope, etc.
I can tell you that viewing both HS and MS busses at the same time sheds light on issues such as CCF. Also, JLR CAN bus is time triggered.
If you have a forum to recommend, please advise.
best regards,
Bill
