Default Convertible rear window

Hi all, I have a question about keeping the rear window on the convertible tops from cracking and going hazy. The man I bought the car from said that he was told to use baby oil to keep it supple, is this true? just wondering if anyone had any input onto this as I don't want it to crack on me.
Thanks
Vicki

I have a 1960 Thunderbird convertible with the plastic rear window. I've owned it since 1996 and the window is still perfectly clear and intact. Twice during the season I clean and polish the window with the same wax I use on the paint. When it gets dirty and begins to look hazy, one treatment to clean, and one more treatment to polish and it's good to go.
I'll be selling the car this year and a hazy back window it will not have.

Cheers,
