Question Experience with REV-X oil treatment?

Does anyone have any experience with REV-X oil treatment? I was going to try it in a Mazda CX-7 turbocharged engine which just had the turbo replaced at 45,000 miles. I was hoping to use this product to get rid of any possible sludge in the engine which I believe contributed to the turbo failure. I bought the car used with 28k miles on it and have always changed the oil at 5000 mile intervals with Mobil1. I have the feeling that the previous owner missed a oil change before I bought it which may have been the problem. Appreciate any insight from the knowledgeable forum.

If I read correctly, you're attributing the failure of the turbo to sludge that formed prior to your ownership of the car, some 17,000 miles ago and with the premise that the previous owner missed an oil change.

I would think that if the turbo lasted 17K miles under your ownership there was not lubrication issue with the turbo and if the 3 oil changes you've done didn't clean out the sludge, there was none to start with.

In doing a quick google, sounds like turbo failure on these cars is quite common irrespective of oil change interval.

The reason behind my belief of possible engine sludge is the repair shop found a small glob of sludge in the oil feed line to the turbo. If you read about this make/model there is multiple discussions about engine sludge. The model year is 2010. Again, looking for any feedback on REV-X.

I didn't directly answer your question, sorry. If the proposed product is effective in breaking up sludge and if your engine is contaminated, more than likely you'd experience another glob blocking the feed line to the turbo.
