Default Fuse or Battery?

Tried to start my 2004 XKR and it acted like a dead battery. Can't get to the battery to charge as the trunk won't open. Key fob doesn't work anything. I'm not technically minded and maintenance experience is minimal. Could this be a blown fuse since nothing works? Or is there another way to get into the boot for the battery? Neither manual button nor key fobs will open the trunk.

There is a keyhole in the XK badge on the right hand side of the trunk for this very reason. If the key won’t operate the lock then your other option is to open the hood and hook up a supply to a suitable positive and negative.

Do not try to start the car if you take this option, only use it to open the trunk.

A little WD40 in the boot lock freed it up so we can get to the battery. Thanks
