New member but have been following posts regularly; great information.

I have had some interesting fuel issues with my 2001 S Type, 65,000 miles, the fuel dampner on the fuel rail started leakingNov. 07I waited 5 months for the $30.00 part because of supplier issues. I had to pull the injectors on the driver's bank to replace it. Tried to buy new O rings fromm the dealer, but was told part includes new injector. Went to the Ford dealer with an O ring and they replaced them for a few bucks. Recently I have noticed a slight gas smell only on the frontdriver's bank. I checked the dip stick and did the match test and determined there is no fuel in the oil. Car runs great with no visisble signs of leaks, exhaust smoke,or warning lights. Anythoughts?

 

Thanks, the fuel filter sounds like good adviceas it has64,000 miles. I have noticeda slight declrease in fuel mileage that I thought was caused by the ethanol in the fuel. Is there anything I should know before I attempt to replace it regarding battery disconnect etc. It looks fairly simple but I have found the car to be anything but. What brand filter would you recommend, I know they have had issues withsome of the filters not meeting connections specs.
