Help with "What is XLS" Jag
Guest

I have always loved the Jags and now I have the option to but one local and I went and looked at it. Inside the door the mnfg. date is 02/1987 so I am assuming its an 1987 model and on the trunk it says "XLS", it does have the v-12 and its a 2 door coupe. I am having trouble finding info as to what is the "XLS" and what makes it different. It has a no start condition but I think with all of the online info I can get through that and it nees paint and some TLC but I can handle that as well. I would just like to know what I am looking at.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
DD

Got pics?
In the states (you didn't say where you're from), add a year to the manufacture year, and that's the year of the car (made in '87 thus makes it an '88...generally speaking). Take a peek at the title, though. That will tell you the year of the car based on how it's registered.
Nearest I can tell is that "possibly," XLS referred to an options package of the XJS. Every picture I find of an XLS has a Leaper on the hood, versus a badge for the XJS's. I'm not a Jag expert (yet...lol), but that's about the only difference that I can figure.

Yes, it seems to be a variant of an XJS, pictures would be helpful.
