Default Jaguar Black Book?

I've been a Corvette enthusiast since birth (inherited from dad's side) and I love the Corvette Black Book with its year-by-year numbers of how many of each style were made, what options were available, details on updates, etc. I buy an updated copy every few years.

Is there such a thing for Jags? I realize the Corvette is just one model while there are many Jaguar models, so it is a bigger undertaking, but is there someone who publishes a compendium of Jag stats every so often?

Maybe Jaguar: All the Cars is what I'm after? Is it worth the money?

I've never seen one. It is hard for the str guys to estimate how many were made.

Books on Jaguar generally concentrate on one model or attempt to cover everything but with insufficient detail on individual models. The one you mentioned is an exception:

JAGUAR: All the Cars
Author: Nigel Thorley
Publisher: Haynes
ISBN: 9780857333490

It's the best general Jaguar book I've read.

If you only want information on X-Type specification and option changes during the production run, this one is a good low priced guide:

Title: JAGUAR X-Type 2001 to 2009: The Essential Buyers Guide
Author: Nigel Thorley
Publisher@ Veloce Publishing
ISBN: 9781845844622

Although aimed at assessing a vehicle as a potential purchase, it has the usual well researched coverage typical of Nigel Thorley.
