Thanks, clubairth, I appreciate the reply. Been through all that. Looking for the simple answer: has anyone installed any native version of the EPC on an earlier version of Windows (XP or W7) and bypassed the Flash hassles that occur on W10?

Simple answer = YES
I have JEPC and JTIS running directly on my dedicated SDD v1.50 laptop (Lenovo T430) which has Windows 7 Ultimate installed. Both were also previously running under XP Pro before I upgraded my diagnostics laptop and SDD version.

Thanks. Knowing that I'm chasing something that's been done makes it easier to keep digging. I installed a VirtualBox VM of W7 Ultimate, with JEPC '13 running in it -- but the pictures aren't coming up. It might be that JEPC '13 wants something more recent than Explorer 8.0 to run on. Still working at it. Not clear if Flash is even on there yet. Anyway, if there's an answer, I'll find it.
Never thought I'd be digging in a box for the dusty old W7 install disks, let alone the XP ones...

Got it to work. Awkwardly, but for something I use a few times a year, just fine. Issue is getting JPEC to display *.png picture files. Blocked by security settings.
Install Win 7 Ultimate using Virtualbox.
Download JEPC '13 and install under Win 7 VM.
Problem: photos being blocked by Win 7's Internet Explorer 8 (?) release.
Opened Win 7 VM internet options "Security settings".
Set lowest available level of security. Set all Active X security restrictions to "Enable" (meaning I shut them off or turned them on as appropriate to set minimum or no security).
Back to JEPC. Select Jag part image at end of tree: Select "fullsize image" icon.
"....Click here to change your security settings" >>> "Active content blocked" >>> "allow blocked content" ... Security warning "yes". Pic appears.
(Until the above security settings were disabled, JEPC's *.png pic would not appear.)
Shutoff VM Win 7 internet access, since it's only ever used for JEPC.
Anyone know how to get the *.png image to appear without the security warning dance, please post. Thanks!
I'll post this at the end of GGG's thread as well.
