is anyone able to pull service records?, I am looking at a 2003 XJ-R or sale

 

AFAIK any Jag dealer can retrieve a history of *warranty* repairs.....although I'm not sure how long corporate Jaguar keeps the records before purging.

Records of some services (like emission tests) are collected by CarFax, as are collision repairs in some cases. I think different states have different reporting/collection requirements as far as that goes.

For anything else you'd need to enquire at the specific repair shop(s) or dealer(s) that have done the repairs and servicing.

There's no national data base, if that's what you're thinking of.

thanks, does this care have any specific issues 2003 99K? - i think the timing belt tensioners are steel - i had read on some v8 need the "coils replced"

 

AFAIK an '03 would have all the latest and greatest revisions....but I'm not very well versed on the V8 stuff.

Post a separate question in the "X308" section and/or search the archives. Or, perhaps at the top of that section there are some "sticky" threads covering the FAQs for the X308 cars/engine
