Good morning. My 2001 S-Type 4.0 on previous post wouldn't shift to park. Followed all responses on adjusting shifter cable and rooster comb while installing new pan gasket, new filter, and new fluid and it worked fine for a while. Then started a 'delay' going into drive. Now won't shift to 'Drive' at all. Adjusted shifter cable to forward and back extremes. Shifts to all gears Except drive; seems to bind moving shifter to drive position and doesn't move any further back. White plastic block doesn't appear broken. It moves to end of rod going into park but after going to 'neutral' won't move any further back.
Any help or suggestions would be Greatly appreciated and tried. If pictures with shift handle and top J-Gate removed would help, I'd be glad to provide them. Hate to drain and take pan down again, but may have to to check rooster comb.

Note: I look at all posts and answers about shifter stuck in Park, but not my problem.

I've followed all previous posts and comments on cable adjustments. That didn't solve problem. Guess next move is to drain trans fluid and remove pan again to check rooster comb position and movement in different shifter positions. Wondering if there is a way to check the digital trans range sensor to be sure it's working correctly before removing pan.
