Default Shop/Repair Manual on CD or on-line?

I've read both good and bad comments in here about the repair manuals on CD available through places like EBay, and every seller on EBay swears that theirs is authentic and everyone else's is a cheap rip-off. One listing says his is OEM and direct from Jaguar (and prices it higher than the usual $9 of course) - does Jaguar even use CD manuals in their shops? Can someone give me the bottom-line on these manuals, please? I have a 2002 X-Type and I don't believe Hayne's or Chiltons makes a paper manual.

Alternatively, has anyone subscribed to an on-line manual service, such as ALLDATAdiy.com? Is their repair information worth (i.e. more comprehensive) the $27/year instead of buying a CD?

Thanks for your input!
Jason

I'm not sure about the exact dates, but I think your car is covered under the service manuels offered free at "christo's download", at the top of this forum, "General tech help". He's offering if for free, just contact him, he'll have more details.
