Sometimes my 1987 Jaguar XJ6 runs and sometimes it doesn't- GAS TANKS?
I've been having trouble with my XJ6. It seems when I would switch over the gas tanks, the car would stop running. Just die out on the side of the road.
The mechanics at Precision Tune said the fuel valve was not shutting off to the drivers side tank. They couldn't find the proper part to install so they put an elbow connector to the passenger side tank. Said it needed a solenoid.
What the problem also seems to be is that for the longest time the car wouldn't start. Wouldn't turn over. Then these last couple of days, turn the key, everything's fine.
Any ideas on what might be wrong?
Also, any idea on who fixes 1987 Jaguars in the Tri-Cities? I'm having a difficult time finding someone who wishes to touch it.
