My 2006 XKR has made strange noises before starting for several months - each time, the "steering column locked" red warning came up.....but eventually the car would start and the message would disappear. One mechanic has told me on the phone that he thought the lock was broken and the repair would involve the replacement of the whole steering column. Has anyone else gone through this, and what did it cost them?
