Cool TPS sensor

1994 code xjs 4.o keeps throwing FF17 which is TPS. Tested pink and purple wire with key on and got 4.89 volts. Tested green and yellow while at idle and got 0.52 volts. Should I adjust this the specs say it should be 0.58 - 0.62 volts? I have an earlier series tPS with the blue round plug and have checked the wiring to be the same - would it be better to just replace the tps using my other connector?

The car runs good, but keeps throwing the check engine light and FF17 code. last year it kept throwing a check transmission light and going into "limp home" mode - I think that was probably the TPS starting to go- any help appreciated.

All data says the ECM will flag code 17 anytime the TPS signal drops below 250 millivolts anytime the key is on. Improper adjustment is listed as a possible cause.
