Default xjr 1996 performance upgrade

I am looking for a little help with increasing the performance of a 1996 xjr.
1. Supercharger pulley
2. performance chip.
3. air intake.
4. exhaust
I see these as the options, and probably in that order, depending on funds!
does anyone have any suggestions, as to best options, manufacturers, suppliers etc?
Thanks.
note: car drives great, pulls like a train throughout rev range. good tranny, shocks and tyres. (maybe I should leave it alone? )

There are some used ones out there for the XJR/6. I'm not aware of anyone still manufacturing them. Not enough demand, I reckon.

FWIW, the couple guys I've spoken with tried a pulley change and ended up going back to the original pulley. Apparently the air charge gets too hot due to increase supercharger speed, resulting in an initial burst of increased power followed by an over drop in power.

That's just what I've heard, FWIW

2. performance chip.

Not aware of any but XJR Engineer (he's on this forum) can apparently recalibrate your ECU.

3. air intake.

Make sure it draws in cool air

4. exhaust

My impression is that minor gains can be had by lowering exhaust restriction. IMHO, though, is that low restriction exhaust sounds very odd on these cars.

I've been kicking around the idea of using the XJ6 2-pass rear mufflers to replace the XJR 3-pass rear mufflers and eliminating the forward mufflers entirely. Hopefully it won;t sound too weird and I'll pick up a couple horsepower

There's virtually zero aftermarket support for the XJR/6. Get ahold of Andy (XJR Engineer) for one of his timing advance brackets....easy power increase.

I have the bracket and swapped the 3.27 diff for for a 3.58. Both changes individually made a decent (but not earth shattering) improvement.

Cheers
DD
