Default u-joint technology

found this wandering around:

a small sample ...

Many universal joints will have a grease fitting in the body of the cross. This does have a tendency to weaken this type of joint as it becomes a stress riser. This can be overcome if a little thought is put into installing the joint. Simply orient the grease fitting so that under load, the torque is working to compress this hole rather than open it up. If the universal joint has the grease fitting in the bearing cap, this becomes a non-issue.
