Default V6 Diesel 306DT / AJD-V6 DT20

I am trying to source replacement items for a 3.0 V6 Diesel in a Jaguar XJ, this particular engine was fitted to a number of JLR products but the reported kW and torque varies quite a bit and it isn't really clear why or what changes to make the difference. The availability and cost of parts varies and sellers are rarely sufficiently knowledgable so I am exploring the potential cross compatibility for obtaining parts. I am particularly keen to obtain low mileage replacement engine and turbo's bacause this is both a sutainable option, it is potentially a cost effective solution (yes there are always risks). What did 'they' change to vary the power of these engines - does anyone know ?
