Have you ever experienced the hazards of carbon deposition?

Sorry, but can you be a bit more specific about your circumstances. Carbon build-up is a normal thing inside the combustion chamber, but today of much less significance due to the more exact fuelling of fuel-injected engines. The carbon is a result of incomplete combustion, and also builds up in the exhaust system. Really bad cars will emit black smoke. Black smoke from diesel-engined cars is much worse such that modern diesels now have "DPFs" fitted, (Diesel Particulate Filters).

There are some companies around that claim to be able to remove the carbon without any dismantling (like taking off the cylinder head), but I have no experience of this.

Curious as to why you are on this forum since your profile shows you own a Honda and no Jaguar listed?
