I have a 1996 xjsport 4.0l .
I have recently had to replace the battery and have been experiencing problems starting the car ever since.
Ive noticed that the alarm gives a beep when you connect the battery.
At the moment absolutely nothing happens when turning the key to start it even though all the dash lights and everything else except for the central locking still works as it should.
Ive noticed the last couple of times I connected the battery that the beep sound became weaker and weaker and started screaching when connecting the battery. Now it has gone totally quiet and when I press the button on the remote I only hear a click in the drivers door, but none of the doors lock or unlock anymore.
I have checked the fuses and all are fine.
I would really appreciate any help.
