Default ATT dataplan website issues

My iPace came with a 3 month trial account with ATT for data, but it is not possible to continue the account because the myvehicle.att website does not work. It does not work on any platform or any browser I have tried - iOS, MacOSX, Windows, with Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE...nothing works. In every case, the site freezes with a greyed-out screen at the account dashboard. Do I want to buy a data plan from a company that cannot build a working ecommerce website? No I do not! What other options do I have for data plans? Can I use Verizon as an alternative provider?

Reading deeper on this forum it seems that the ATT data plan may only be required for wifi hotspot capabilities, and not for access to the remote control app, traffic data services, or software updates. Is this the case? Who needs their car to be a wifi hotspot when we have mobile phones with data plans and built-in hotspot capability? Am I missing something essential that the $20/month plan, which I am unable to buy, provides?

I wouldn’t have thought so. In car technologies are generally 5 years behind what you can do on your phone.
Anyone buying an I-pace will have enough spare data on their phone plane to share it around with passengers!

Correct. They are very vague about this. But the data plan is if you want to put additional apps on the car system or use WiFi hot spot. The 'free' version covers in control, remote access, tracking etc. although they may expire when the warranty does?

I was able to extend mine by just calling AT&T, once I explained what I wanted to do they routed me to a specialist and I actually use the in-car hotspot.
