To prevent the 12v battery from total discharge, You can set your car to precondition once a week. This charges the 12v battery.

Is that weekly precondition for situations where the car is not regularly used? If regularly used, is preconditioning useful? Thanks.

Only for when you are storing the car for a few weeks or more.
