Jaguar Boosting I-Pace Range with Tricks Learned on the Track
Honestly, I think stuff like this is why Formula E will be so important in the future. Whereas F1 used to be a test bed for new tech, that role is going to be played by the electric series going forward.
My impression was that there is no difference between the Flex and the regular charger for I-Pace owners since the vehicle can only charge at 7kW.
So far I'm just doing short hops and that means I'm slow charging, due to the weather this time of year I try to avoid long dives (black ice can ruin your entire decade). I put in the 70 AMP breakers and now if the car calls for more current it can get it but, as you point out, it isn't supposed to be able to call for more current. I'll try to take a long drive during the break.
