Default Rear lights not working

Hi All, for the first time yesterday I drove behind someone driving my car and noticed something odd. Bearing in mind it was MOTd only last week (by Jaguar) I am questioning whether it is a problem or just something the lights don’t do…

so the main chassis side of the indicator, brake etc all work fine as they should, but absolutely no lights came on that are held within the boot opening when stopping or indicating, and I had always presumed they form part of the same lights when driving.

So is this to be expected and if not is it a simple fuse etc fix? Thanks in advance

Definitively not normal, but if the main chassis indicator is working fine, I think the fuse should beok. Maybe the harness in the boot, or the connector
