OBD2 access to battery health in the context of the battery recall
With the H441 recall and the implementation of a more accurate monitoring of the battery, JLR has introduce a couple of new PID in the BECM module. In case of a bad module, the charge is limited to 72% until that module is changed.
On the BECM (7E4) , the PID
- 4A0B is a vector of 36 values, one per modules. A zero value means the module is healthy.
- 4A7C (Hybrid/EV Resting Deviation Voltage Exceedance Threshold) is a vector of 36 x 3 values (I guess for the 3 sub module in a 4P3S architecture)
- 4A7D (Hybrid/EV Moving Average voltage deviation exceedance threshold) is a vector of 36 x 3 values (I guess for the 3 sub module in a 4P3S architecture)
I know that I have a bad module (module #8). here are my values:
If other Ipace owner with OBD2 reader can share their values on the BECM, that would help me understanding what is the threshold to declare a bad module in the car.
Here is the trend for PID 4A7D in the car over the last 6 months. A slow and steady climbing curve.
