Default Brake calibration when replacing EPB module

Hi guys. Due to my longterm woes with the EPB I have decided to try one of the last things left for me which is to replace the EPB module in the trunk. I bought a second hand EPB module and replacing them seems very easy - it's just the two cables right? But do I need to do any preparations not to fry the replacement? Do I need to also calibrate anything in any specific way? Or can I just do the swap myself?

Just to point out, currently my car is always in Parkbrake fault mode - I can drive without issues, the park brake does not engage and the car doesn't beep.

Also just out of curiosity - what do the last two letters of part number mean, I have seen these modules with the same code except for the last two letters that were different in fairly similar cars.

Cheers,
Nerius

Suppose the motor is stuck/faulty and has fried the module. It'll just do the same again.

Of course you would in any case have to be sure you'd bought the right kind of module e.g. not one with the wrong network(s) for your car.

I have found if you don't want additional problems. Get a used module that matches the EXACT part number. Not always but this can mean the difference between it working perfect to taking out additional items because it's made different.

I just did this on another car when I purchased a used FEM. There was about 3 different versions of the last two letters. I did not know what if anything was different so I got the one that matched.
