Default Best adhesive for door sill finisher

1999 XK8 convertible, and the drivers side door sill finisher plate has come off. The adhesive underneath is dried and cracked. Once I have cleaned both the plate and the door sill, what adhesive would be best to reattach the plate?

Welcome to the forum Coastguarder,

3M double sided tape does a good job. Avoid anything so effective that it makes subsequent removal even more difficult or impossible without damaging the finisher.

Thanks for the reply and Inam planning on introducing myself ASAP. I am just in the middle of repairing the seats. Once I’m not covered in filler and seat paint I will use the link. Thanks again.
