Cracked Piping on Vanden Plas
Fellas and Laddies,
I've got a 2000 Vanden Plas with charcoal interior piped in light grey. The piping has started to crack slightly on the drivers seat. The rest of the leather is in mint condition, but there are a few areas where the piping has cracked. Has anyone run into this and if so, what are the options for repair? I'd rather not have to pull the skins and re-stitch the piping in, but if there are ways to fix that piping without taking the skin off the seat, I'm interested to know. Is that piping leather or vinyl?
Thanks

I had the same problem in my '96 XJS. I paid someone $160 to replace it. The guy was recommended to me by a Jag dealer. He matched it perfectly AND was the cheapest guy around....by a lot.

There are many, many services that can repair such issues. Ask your local dealer to recommend a leather/trim repair company, or google it in your area. I'm having some leather replaced on a trim piece in my VDP by an auto glass chain (Apple Auto Glass)
