To whomever reads this at Jaguar, if at all;

Why is it that brands like Mercedes and BMW will have the blueprints and the decency to make spare parts for cars dating back to pre-WWII like the 1925 from Benz and Cie, whilst I cannot get a great many parts for my X308 and X351 Jags, under the guise that they are either no longer available or discontinued, despite my being willing to pay for the original parts?

For the sake of example, a purge valve for an X308 cannot be gotten for love nor money; more curiously, a lower right hand lower wishbone is discontinued and unavailable, whilst the left hand side one is available!!

The list goes on, of course, but these are just two picks.

In contrast, I had an incredibly hard to get and difficult part to replicate for a 1972 W108 280SE Convertible arrive in a box and a compliment slip from Mercedes's german plants - a part made out of mica to control the folding of the leather hood, which I could not find anywhere else. Contacted Mercedes, and I had a 2-week lead time quoted. Lo and behold, two weeks later, it arrived in an original Mercedes box, with all the stamps, and a manufacturing date of 2017, and a thank you on a compliment slip.

What demons and deliberate brand sabotage actually drives you to do this, and why are Jaguar owners treated with such disdain? If you're unable to maintain the brands loyal following with appropriate service, then why the hell don't you just sell it to someone who is willing to do that?
