Default Dyno advice?

Hello all,

I am going in tomorrow to get a baseline dyno on my 2002 XJR to use as my "before" figures.

The plan was to run 3 pulls to get a more credible reading.

Any advice on how to dyno would be appreciated.

dyno in 4rth gear? How do I keep it from downshifting?

As long as you use the same dyno pre and post mods it should be fine. Best gear is closest for a 1:1 ratio. 90% of cars use 4th gear. I've always been a fan of mustang dynos as they can mimic a real world situation since they can apply load to the car, but when comparing numbers as long as you run the same dyno it's irrelevant.

So you are both in agreement that regardless of the baseline running 50hp high, the changes from that baseline from mods B->C -> D should be reliable?

Just double checking to make sure I understand you correctly.

exactly. just make sure your tuner applies the EXACT settings as before and you should see what you attained through your mods.
