Default Upgrades for a 6.0l V12?

I wondered if anyone has any useful info for upgrading the 6.0l V12 with more modern self learning EFI systems? If I take the V12 and matching transmission out of my 1995 XJ12 to use in another car, I would like to simplify the package and at the same time hopefully keep it nice and reliable. I have been looking through the forums here, but it doesn't look like anybody is doing this. I have seen a few guys online retrofitting the 6.0l into 70's XJ Coupes. Anyone putting a V12 into an earlier car?

If you go on U tube you will see many Jaguar V12’s used in Hot rods, street rods and retro cars. Want simple? There are guys running a pair of Holley 4 barrels. Guys running the stock carburetors. I’m building a V12 with a roots blower and a Holley 1200 double pumper on top. Plenty of ways to have fun.

Like technology? You can upgrade the stock EFI with Mega squirt and do all sorts of interesting stuff. AJ6 engineering has more stuff for those who want to plug and play.
But let’s be honest The Germans have technology mastered. Get a BMW or Mercedes Benz and they really went overboard. It takes 3 computers to run a Mercedes but they also have twin turbo’s available. Making a whole lot of power.

I have the frame of mind the if you build a Ford hot rod, put in a Ford engine. Just like Jags, if you can't keep it Jagaur then do the poor man swap. My XJS V-12 could outdo a Viper and hit 165 mph with mild computer mods. I am a Jag mechanic of 54 yrs. Even my 4 banger 03 MINI S hits the track with Vioers and Vettes, can't touch them on the straight but get the lead in the curves.

The trouble with any modification is down the road. While you may come up with a creative and workable idea. The only way it lasts is if you document every step of the way and have sufficient spares to last the cars lifetime. ( which is likely to be a whole lot longer than yours).
Otherwise you devalue it by at least the cost to return it to originality. One other approach is to save all the original parts and provide information on how to replace.
It’s up to you to decide if the improvement is worth the effort. And that’s a personal decision.
