Default HELP! Broke down in Kisssimmi FL

I was driving my XJR to a meeting today in Celebration Fl and she stopped on me in Kisssimmi. I'm pretty sure its the fuel pump from the symptoms, but need a recommendation for a good Jag mechanic close by.

I have meetings until Friday morning to try to get her fixed, please help!

If you are around melbourne I know a very qualified mechanic, he does a lot of work on imports and knows exactly where to get parts for anything.

His name is Josh Mellor of Mellor's automotive. He is on ellis road.

Ive brought him many jaguars in the past and he always gets them back on the road.

Other than him I don't know anyone closer to you.

Best of luck!

Vector,

Sorry to hear about your trouble with the XJR.

Looks like pitifulpluto's recommended mechanic in Melbourne is around 50 miles from your present vehicle location in Kissimmee. As Jaguar expertise goes, that's pretty close.

Good luck. A breakdown near home is bad enough but one on a trip and to a schedule is the worst.

Thanks for all the replies all!

I had the car towed to All Jaguar in Longwood.

They replaced both fuel pumps and rebuilt the wiring harness in the tank yesterday. I was able to drive home last night.

Very nice guys, true Jag fanatics and they thought my electric exhaust cut outs were the coolest thing they had seen in a long time!

I can highly recomend All Jaguar, they even washed my car before they gave it back to me.

Good to hear it turned out OK and you didn't have too bad a delay.

Thanks for posting the outcome to the breakdown.

Yes, The guys at All Jaguar do good work. I had my Trans fluid replaced there just this past week. Good to hear you are back in business!

Default Gas smell - Restricted performance!

So I took my XJR home and parked her in the garage last Friday after picking her up at All Jaguar.

Decided to take a drive tonight, stopped and filled up with gas, could smell a faint trace of gasoline when I pulled away from the pump. The smell never got really bad, but it never really went away. Checked the fuel cap, all OK.

After driving about 30 miles I got "restricted performance." Oh my. I did make it home, still smelled gas, and checked things out. No gas smell in the trunk or engine compartment.

I think something may be amiss with my fuel pump, gas tank install and All Jaguar is an hour or so away from me.

I guess I will call them in the morning and see what can be done about this situation.

I was planning on driving over to Orlando on Saturday to attend the Jaguar Drive event. Maybe All Jaguar is open on Saturday and can take a look at it, if I can make it there. We'll see......

Evap line under the car on the two charcoal canisters?

Next may be "check gas cap" when this happens.
