Default "Jaguar" script boot emblem - which models?

Does anyone have the parts book for a 1955 Jaguar MK VII M? If so, can you look up if the MK VII M had the "Jaguar" script boot emblem as an option or if it was only offered on the later MK VIII? There is a lot of conflicting information out there and I assume the best place to get confirmation is in a parts book. I have one and would like to install it on my VII M but will not if it isn't correct. Thanks!

It definitely was not on earlier Mk7s. I had 1952 and 1954 Mk7s.
It was definitely on the MK8.
I am still scratching my head on the MK7M.

Yeah I'm scratching my head as well. As you'll see from the attached photos, Nigel Thorley writes in his book Jaguar Mark VII ti 420G: The Complete Companion, which is often considered to be the quintessential guide, begins discussing the updated elements of the new Mark VII M introduced in September 1954 on page 41. On page 42 he includes an image of the Jaguar script badging indicating that it was on the Mark VII, while also stating "Badging remained the same on the boot lid and did not incorporate the 'M' identification at all", which leads me to believe he meant it didn't have the 'M' but did retain just the 'Jaguar' . I suppose it's possible this is a mistake but one would think this would have been caught and corrected before the book was published, no? I am on a constant search for a parts book for the Mark VII M to see if the 'Jaguar' script is included in it but have not been able to find one.
