Default Mk IX handbrake warning light switch location

Just acquired a Mk IX, the handbrake warning lamp does not work and I believe this because the switch has broken in the past and been removed. I found the switch (attached to a bracket) loose with some spares and I think I can repair it. However, I have looked along the car all the way from the handbrake right up handbrake calipers and I cannot find where the switch should be fitted. Can any Mk 8/9 owners out there help?

There are actually two switches that will activate the warning lamp. The HB switch mounts to the HB handle as per the spare parts catalog(ue) and the second switch is a float in the brake fluid res.

Thank George, I have tested the switch on the break fluid reservoir by lifting the filler cap and the warning light works. I have a parts catalogue and the issue I have is with the handbrake switch (part C.15270). I just can't find where to mount it on the handbrake handle. Don't suppose you have a photo of where it is mounted.

The correct switch screws into the bracket that holds the HB handle. You should see a threaded hole or what is left of the old switch. This will allow adjustment.
