Default Restoring my spoked wheels on 420.

Does anybody know the best way to restore spoked rims? Who I can go to without spending a fortune? All of the tires on my 1967 420 are shot and don't hold air, and I want to get them wheels restored and new slicks and inner tubes all at once.

Im surprised that nobody knows, it seems that it costs a lot of money.

It does cost a lot of money and there's no way to cut corners.

Although I've never replaced chrome wires on a Jaguar, I have done so on an MGB and an Aston Martin DB5. The vehicle makes little difference and the cost is similar.

The wheel is stripped down and the spokes discarded. The hub is refurbished (with particular attention to the splines) and rechromed. The rim is 'trued up' before rechroming. Finally the wheel is laced with new spokes.

All of this costs money. The usual procedure in the UK is to exchange wheels although the specialists will rebuild your own if required. Present cost over here is around £300 ($490) per wheel.
