Value question
Hi folks,
I am usually over on the xj forum, but came across a 1966 mark 10 basket case, for 1500, putting it back together doesnt worry me, just wondering the value, i know its worth more than the 1500, but how much more? I wouldnt be buying to flip, it would be a project.
Is it worth it? I see no rust, even floor pans look god, but i dont know where spots are on this model.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Darren

I personally feel $1500 for a parts car as a comfortable purchase. If its to be restored to make money, you have to do most work yourself to come ahead.
William Lyon's personal Mark X has been restored by the factory and featured in Octane and Jaguar World magazines. This should raise the profile and interest in the model. Can't hurt he value, but with old Jags of this type, it only has value to the right person.
They are cool cars, but they cost twice as much as an E Type to restore, and are worth a quarter as much when done. Most of the cost is the interior; there's lots of leather and wood. Do it for fun only.
Cheers,
Rob
