Greatings all, need Jag information for my Volvo 1800
Greatings all. I have just joined your Jag forum looking for information on Dana rear center sections.
I am thinking about building acustom IRS rear end to put under my souped up '72 Volvo 1800 sports car. Does anybodyknow what thestub axleflange to flange width of a Dana 44Jag center section is? Here is the Dana 44 I am looking at, but I'm not sure of which years this covers: http://www2.dana.com/pdf/5329.PDFandI hope this is even a Jag unit.I would like to adapttheDana 44 centersection to eithera late '70's Eldoradoor4x4 Chevy S10 CV half shafts, spindles, and control armsdepending on the width of theJag rear end. I am trying tocome up with an outside wheel flange to flange width of 54.5" to 56" The Eldorado/Toronado inner CV joints to wheel flange is 20.5" and the S10 is 18.5". I would have to use a coil-over shock and I don't know whether to use inboard or outboard brakes.I think that an adapter plate could be built to mate theDana 44 stub axles to the CV joints without too much trouble? They call me crazy, but I can't see why this can't work?Any information would be greatly appreciated.
