Default What's the easiest and best way to re-coat the exhaust manifold?

The coating on my exhaust headers (1968 420G) is imperfect.
Is there an easy way to recoat them?
Special brush-on or spray paint?
Or must I take them off and do the whole strip-down, and some kind of ceramic coating to get that glossy plated look back again?
Would like to hear what others have tried.
Thanks.

Heres a trick, go to your local hardware or heating suppliers or wherever they sell stoves. You can usually buy a pot of enamel paint for touching up marks or chips on stoves. I used Majolica Brown paint on mine. Its a really dark brown used on Waterford Stanley stoves, but you can get lots of different types. Its easy apply and gives perfect finish.

GOOD IDEA. It's worth a try, if naught but for sparing me broken exhaust studs, and exhaust leaks from re-fitting gaskets.
