Not sure I am allowed to say this here but that is way over priced, nearly 2X retail value for that particular car ( vin checked on carfax values ) I was looking for a car for my son for about 7500...
Good hunting! Doubt you will find one of this quality for that price. - Alan
You may want to edit your listing. There are no turbocharged XK8s; the XKR is supercharged.
Have the primary and secondary timing chains, guides and tensioners been replaced? Plastic tensioner failure is a function of cold to hot to cold cycles and age, not mileage.
Nice looking car in the correct colour.

Thanks. You may have misread the AD since I say in Parens - not Turbo-charged. The items you asked about have not been changed, but the car has been in Virginia since I bought it new in 2002 where climate is fairly mild and has been always garaged and has been well maintained. - Alan
Agree with NBcat. Saying it's not turbocharged, while true, is a little like saying it's not a banana. None of the Jaguar engines from that era were turbocharged. That said, I think everyone here will know what you mean (i.e., that it's not an XKR).
On a 2002, I'm not sure what the deal is with primary and secondary tensioners. I think by that time Jaguar had switched to metal secondaries (or was it primaries?), but had not yet made them all metal. Worth exploring/clarifying, esp. for forum members.
Otherwise beautiful looking car! Good luck with the sale.

OK, Thanks for the info and will check.

Perfect color combo. You should look at the engine build date. If it is after August something 2001 then you have the upgraded metal tensioners and this will be a strong selling point. There are threads on here but from what recall it is on the right side of the block.
I think the price is sell-able if the right buyer sees it.
It could just be a long time for that to happen.
The difference in fade and sun damage of a garage kept car and non garage kept car are pretty noticeable if you ever see them back to back.
Most $7,500 XK8's have some sun damage.
I still think it is a high asking price compared to market but not by an over large margin.
If you aren't in a hurry to sell it could still find a buyer.

Well, thanks for the encouraging comments . . . I am not in a hurry. I bought it new and have taken excellent care of it both cosmetically and mechanically. Needless to say 9but maybe not) re Price - OBO applies! - Alan
