Are you unable to find a replacement or a repairer in Argentina?

Are you certain you need a replacement transmission? What is the fault?
If you definitely do need a replacement:
Option 1 - rebuild your transmission
A rebuild is the lowest cost option and the transmission would be "as new". A Google search returns several automatic transmission specialists in Buenos Aires. It does not have to be a Jaguar specialist. Automatic transmission specialists can rebuilt any type.
Option 2 - locate a used transmission in BA or within Argentina
In his reply to your other post, Don B wrote that if your car has a 3.6 litre engine, the transmission is probably the ZF 4HP22, which was used not only in the Jaguar XJ40s, but in several models from BMW, Land Rover, Peugeot, Volvo, and others, including the Chevrolet Opala that was sold in South America. This should increase your chances of finding a good used transmission in the Buenos Aires area.
Option 3 - import a used/rebuilt transmission
Distance will be the problem. UK or USA are sources; Australia is another but nearly twice the distance from BA.
