Please need help. Restoring front and back door vent windows. Original molded rubber seals are expesive. Does anyone have an idea of some different rubber to use. I'm thinking maybe 1960 VW beattle vent rubber seals¿?
Don't want to sound snarky, but at this point, I think the seals are the least of your worries.
Some thing one just has to bite the bullet _ how expensive could they be ?
Suggest you get your NDV/Quarterlight rubbers from COH Baines. There is a lot of rubbish out there that deteriorates quickly & many brands leak badly. Can't put a hose anywhere near them. IIRC cost approx 10 pounds each. Barratts want 95 pounds each for them.

Thanks, will follow on advise.
Dipped and scrub dissasembled frames in a 50/50 wite vinegar/water solution for two weeks then rised them with bakeing soda and water to get rid of 60 yeras of RUST. One rear frame will need some welding to restore it for use. (wood post is to prevent frame from collapsing due to the metal erosion noted) rest of the frames came out rather fine.
