Default 1965 3.8s spoked tire removal

Feeling like a real nerd. Have my fist flat tire and do not know how to remove the spoked wheel. I got the hub (Iwill call it that) and the tire is lose, but I cannot pull it away and remove it.

any help here?

The wheel should just pull straight off. It may be corroded on, so if you can get behind it you might need to give the rim some persuasion with a dead blow or other of faced hammer. Hit it on the rim, not the tire and spin it around to give even force.

However, if this is a rear wheel, you'll need the car jacked up enough to allow the suspension to go to full droop. You need the space to get the wheel past the rear fender skirt.

The part you removed is generally called a knock off or spinner. The part attached to the car that the wheel is located by is the hub.

Penetrating oil on the splines.
I've been told a mixture of ATF and Acetone works wonders.
It's supposed to just slide off, but I'm sure the climate in Seattle has oxidized it just enough so it won't come off.

EDIT:
Jagboi just posted as I did.

Follow all above. With the knock off spinner removed. Don't be shy to fire up the engine & rock the car backwards & forwards (Reverse/1st) quite harshly to loosen a corroded spline. (Obviously off the jack standing on it's wheels). Likewise with brakes on a front wheel.

When you refit use either a moly grease No 2 or a dry high solids (MOS2/Graphite) dirt bike chain spray) on the splines.

if the tire hits the wing, release all the air in the tire if not fully out of air.

rock the tire and wheel side to side until it moves off the splined hub.
