Default 1965 S-type steering wheel play

'65 S-type Coup had a new wood steering wheel on the car when I took over restoration. I believe the original wheel was the black plastic one. If you pull out on the wheel it still slides up with the nut all the way tight. is there a sleeve or pin missing somewhere. I can't find anything in my manuals. Thnxs DevilDog Jr.

You might have better luck with getting an answer for your question, if you post your question in the correct section, which is under "JAGUAR MODELS (CLASSIC)" and then "MK1 MK2 S Type"...

Are clips (32) properly in place?

Or maybe you just have to snug up on number "19" in the diagram to lock the collet in place ?

Someone had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago and they had forgotten to fit the collets (32) on the diagram.

Good to see you are cracking on with your dads restoration he would be proud of you. Keep us updated with Miss Kittys progress and looking forward to Joe's legacy and your inheritance being back on the road.

Ditto to that sentiment. It will be great to see the metallic green beauty back on the road. Your Dad was always such a pleasure to chat to on the Register. Still remember the short video he made of the first time he started the engine with fond memories.
