1966 MKII.......RHD
Just found an old 66' MKII ( I am fairly sure that is what it is anyway, it says MKII on the front reb emblem) old and worn but still original, and with EXTREMELY MINIMAL rust on the bottom of the wheel well tips, very little.
CLEAN floors, trunk, still on its faded but original navy blue with gray interior. The interior is complete, but the leather is very dry and crazed, but not blown out or in pieces.
Surprisingly clean original headliner.
All the rubber id dry but all there, all gauges and trim are still in there too.
Automatic, the fluid looks good, not burnt. I will be trying to fire it up next week.
The neatest thing, a RHD. How tricky is it to get used to these guys...?
It has some crummy cheapo KRAGEN "wire-wheel" hubcaps. already looking for a decent set of wires for it.
Secured a trade with a guy for an XJS I have with a mild upper engine fire in trade for upholstering the car.
Would like to ask the experts and forum fans with help with what you think is the best color combo:
body: Ivory/ black / silver /gunmetal gray ?
Interior: palomino / black / tan ?
I realize that some purists will want to hang me for not going to the original navy /gray. BNever been a big fan of either, sorry...
It will be a fun driver, not a concours car.
I'd appreciate any input.
Thanks

RE: 1966 MKII.......RHD
Hey!
RHD MKII's must be falling from the skies.
I have had my 64 RHD 2.4L for a tad over two weeks.
NO PROBLEM driving a RHD in the States!
Mine has new Tan interior, original nice headliner.
Rust free boot and floors.
Chome beautiful!
Needs paint.
Mine is some kind of brown/bronze/butterscotch, should end up BRG.
Mine has solid wheels, which I prefer for a driver (MUCH less aintenace cost!)
