How is the boot lid seal attached to a Mark?

The rectangular part in GREEN goes into the groove in the body.
The groove in the rubber faces the outside, or at least that's the way I have mine so it doesn't fill with water at the bottom _ having the groove to the outside also allows it to drain.

Mine is a 240, the seals came in two lengths just more than half of the full circumference of the boot groove. I understood that the joins should be at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock.

Most come in a single length and the joint is at 6 o clock.

Yes. 6:00 and 12:00 for the seams. I just did this job and it helps to have a lot of those metal spring clips designed to clip large paper documents. I did one side at a time and used at least 20 of them. It is nearly impossible to keep the corners in place until the adhesive cures without the clips. The medium size seem to work just fine.
Find the office supply closet at work and borrow.a few boxes. They can be replaced the next day and no one will know.

Mine has a softish metal liner rubber covered. You have to apply medium force to fit it. No glue & nonsense. They were all like that on SA built cars. Seam at 6 o Clock.

Like this UK car in basic principle (2nd Pic) but solid foam not tube.

Exactly the same on my UK S Type so I think the Mk2 boot seal is a different design.

Rob, Our SA Mk2s use the same seal but it was probably made locally by the same company only shorter.
