Default British Steel IV - March 10, 2025

Everyone in the Bay Area, California should come to this event. It is a great cars and coffee format before 9 am and then have a great 100 mile organized drive. They have three groups so no worry if you are a slow cruiser driver to a faster pace enthusiast.....

SATURDAY, MAY 1O, 2025
Calistoga, CA

$50. Gates 7:30am, event 8am.

It’s back: British Steel® IV, an all-British, mostly-vintage motor rally. This year’s route kicks off at a one-of-a-kind winery in BCR’s hometown of Calistoga, CA and touches down at yet another rad family-owned winery in Healdsburg, following a bracing jaunt over B roads (~100 miles of ‘em) that are - no hyperbole - bloody epic.

Meet at an undisclosed Calistoga location for a little pre-rally social hour with Sam’s General Store pop-up providing caffeine & sustenance. At 9am, leave in 3 groups (HARE, TORTOISE, and SNAIL) 5 minutes apart for a ~100 mile drive, done by noon. Optional winery lunch available at rally’s end.

What does your $50 get you? Only this: a parking pass, rally decal, a PDF with rally info and route directions, a Google Map and downloadable .kml file, and an amazing morning out on Northern California's best backroads with a crüe of like-minded drivers.

Additional details to come as the date approaches.

All applications are subject to review and approval by BCR; in the case your application is not accepted, your ticket fee will be refunded.

How to register.

1. Make sure you & your car can attend the rally on the given date & time, rain or shine.

2. Register for this rallywith your vintage (1999 & earlier) or eligible modern car (2000 and newer) for a $50 fee; we’ll mail you a rally decal & parking pass.

WHAT’S ELIGIBLE? All pre-2000 British vehicles are welcome; 2000 and newer British car entries are limited to “enthusiast” models and other “interesting“ vehicles- sports cars, low production runs, unusual/exotic marques, grey market imports, backyard-modded enthusiast projects, things like that. Motorcycles and post-1999 SUVs/CUVs/trucks/minivans are NOT eligible. If in doubt your vehicle qualifies, click here before submitting an application.

1999 & EARLIER CAR APPLICATIONS - upon sending your application, you’ll receive email confirmation that your submission was received. Within approx. 48 hours, watch for another email stating whether you’ve been awarded a spot in the rally.

2000 & NEWER CAR APPLICATIONS - we usually receive more qualified modern car applications than we can accommodate. Watch your email to learn whether you snagged a spot or not.

Here is a good friend of mine's Jaguar XJL R edition #3 of only 47 made. That huge roomy luxury Jaguar that could easily fit 4 NBA players over 6'5" with room for them to stretch out and it is such a light car for the size with the aluminum body which enables that 550 HP V8 to go 0-60 only .2 seconds slower than my 1963 3.8s. That car is fast and handles very well for such a large car!
