Default Commission Plate Location/Orientation

I am replacing the commission plate on my 1960MK2 (that has the car#, engine#,body# and trans#) because the one on my car is almost unreadable (covered the undercoating and dented). I have a question about the correct orientation of the plate. The one on my car is installed upside down, forward of the heater, below and to the rear of the fuse box and at an angle along the frame. Is this the correct orientation (upside down) so that the numbers can be viewed more easily?

Thanks Jon. I suspected that might be the case but I wanted to make sure before I wasted four rivets.

Gents I would remind you that the plate has a couple of locations depending on how the car was equipped. Power steering models send the plate to the firewall as the PS res. mounts where the data plate is on the inner fender.

Now that makes sense why my 1960 (with power steering) had the data plate mounted on the firewall and Ted's didn't.
