Default Crankcase Breather

I am renovating a 1964 MK II and am having a problem to see where the crankcase breather finishes up. Following a little investigation it would appear that it should go to the inlet manifold air filter but there is no connection on my filter unit.
Can anyone help here as in the running of the car it is very sluggish off the mark and stalls when stopped until the whole engine compartment is warm (often 15 minutes). Once warm it is fine. has anyone else had the same problem and what have you done to solve the problem. Thing you in advance. Happy motoring David
