Default Daimlers transmission fluid - Castrol Type F or ????

so the question of WHICH transmission fluid should be used in a Daimler came up.

Redtriangle posted a very informative piece, a segment of which is:

"
When topping up the gearbox fluid, you MUST use the correct fluid – ATF-G or Ford spec M2C-33G. Other fluids sold for modern automatics are normally Dextron based and destroy the integrity of the clutch and band friction linings. The gearbox will almost certainly fail after only a couple of thousand miles with Dextron instead of the correct fluid".

So I went to the best automotive store around, and asked for ATF-G or Ford spec M2C-33G. I was told Transmax Type F by castrol is the modern eqivilent. The clerk even printed out a product data sheet from Castrol stating as much.

So is Castrol Type F acceptable? Or is ther another suggested product available for the transmission?

i wanted to get it right and do no harm.

Yes, "Type F" or "Type FA " replaces "Type G"
