Default Frank's Mk2

I am almost 8 years into a 2 year post retirement project to get my 1961 3.8 Mk2 back on the road. When I purchased it it had 84K genuine miles up with a complete documented history. It drove well from Sydney to Bendigo Victoria. The bodywork was essentially perfect. There was no rust whatsoever and before I started stripping it I ran a compression test. All cylinders were within 2psi so I decided the engine would remain essentially untouched on the garage floor while I worked on everything else. I am now at a late stage of reassembly and have a few queries.
Was the original fuel line a semi transparent nylon/polypropylene type material?
What is the recommended Fuel line pressure? I have retrofitted a new "electronic"(?) SU fuel pump and am having trouble sealing all the fibre washer (new) joints in the line. Any clues on maintaining leak free joints?
This is my first attempt at using the Forum. I have an additional list of questions which I'll post if I get a response to this.
Hope to get a response soon.
Thanks and Cheers
Frank

The SU carbs don't require much pressure, only about 2-3psi, so if its more than that not only will it possibly cause the issues you have, but also throw the carb settings out of whack.

Maybe temporarily fit a pressure gauge inline to see what it is, and fit a FPR inline if you have to.

My guess is that you don't want to do that though, as you are restoring it to factory specs, otherwise I'd say just use normal fuel line.

On my parts jaguar mk2 2.4, the fuel lines are the clear hose with a cross hatch pattern of braid woven into them, they look original
