Default Good source for Mark 1 seat upholstery?

Is there a good source for seat upholstery for a 1959 Mark 1? The type where I can order new leather seat skins and install them myself while learning a few new words? What should I bugdet? The original leather looks like a horse ate it.

Thanks,

Andy

in the US there is BAS Jaguar Upholstery, Basset's Jaguar, OSJI Interiors, and others.

BAS has a communications problem, they never answer the phone, and they never reply to "please leave a message". If they reply, it's usually 3 months later.

OSJI has the same problem.

Basset's replies fairly quickly but their inventory is more for the Big Jaguar Saloons.

The best Jaguar upholstery company is John Skinner in the UK, they reply inmediately and are very courteous.

I can only say that you need lots of money to do a complete interior. (carpeting, door panels, seats).

How much is lots of money? For a classic Beetle I can get a nice interior for $1000.

a MK-1 is not a Beetle.

My guess for a complete interior for a Jaguar MK1 ? $4 to $5 thousand.

What's the old saying? "If it's got breasts or wheels, its gonna cost you money"!

I can also recommend Skinner's in the UK. Excellent service and prices not unreasonable. I ordered skins for the seats and door trims. Both are a pain in the butt to fit, but with perseverance, results are excellent, if I do say so myself.
Be prepared to have several goes at fitting the seat covers to get them looking right.
